How I might use a blog in my life as a teacher

I can see the advantages and disadvantages of blogging in the classroom. Using a classroom blog to update students on what is expected for the following class, homework assignments or general comments on the day's activities can be a way of ensuring communication that is easily accessable for all students. The classroom blog would have to have parameters set as to the usage by students to prevent the stressful situations which can accompany postings en masse. A filter of sorts for the teacher to ensure that the safety of the classroom continues into the classroom blog.
